Paintings and sculptures were important in Greek culture and society; the styles that these artists used influenced future artists.
Greek art
Greece has a great and famous repetition for magnificent pieces of art. Greek artists have been role models to many artists due to the ability of Greek artists capturing the movement of the human body. Some of these great paintings include Aphrodite and Ares, Dionysus and Ariadne, and Allegory of Love. The Greek artists tried to capture grace of the idealized human body in motion. They wanted to portray ideal beauty, not realism. By using these characteristics, Greek artists became role models for future artists and helped make what is known today as classical art.
